In Loving Memory ...

This is not my usual post, but posting this on my blog in
memory of someone that shared more than 50 years of my life.
“Time does not bring relief; you all have lied”
Time does not bring relief; you all have lied
Who told me time would ease me of my pain!
I miss him in the weeping of the rain;
I want him at the shrinking of the tide;
The old snows melt from every mountain-side,
And last year’s leaves are smoke in every lane;
But last year’s bitter loving must remain
Heaped on my heart, and my old thoughts abide.
There are a hundred places where I fear
To go,—so with his memory they brim.
And entering with relief some quiet place
Where never fell his foot or shone his face
I say, “There is no memory of him here!”
And so stand stricken, so remembering him.
The butterfly years, the endless days of love and laughter that slip between our fingers with nothing left to show now, just bittersweet memories of times long ago! Cherish the memories, as they will linger, and embrace the time afforded you to be a butterfly, living your life as if there is no tomorrow. But when tomorrow comes, hold onto those butterfly memories, as they will never be repeated! The flower may die, but the butterfly is still flying onwards on the rhythm of the memories left behind, thankful for each previous moment spent! 💕
