"Always under the Shadow of the Almighty"
I know, to Be Still is easier said than done! But most things dealing with denying the flesh presents this discomfort. Our natural man is instinctively reactive. When something happens, we do something about it! That's not always bad, but when we rely on our ability to fix everything that presents resistance, (on the fly) we find ourselves living as Christians, in name only!
When God gave New Life, it was All Inclusive! As He teaches us His thoughts and ways, He must always be present and included. In our physical state, we are temporary, and of little consequence in this spiritual adventure of Life in Christ. From a lawn mower not starting, to a doctor's bad report, for the Christ follower, everything we encounter goes across our Master’s desk for approval before it comes to us! All we need to do is trust in Him. Faith itself, is evidence of our knowledge of His provision and protection. How could Paul go into one synagogue after another, knowing the leaders wanted to kill him? Because God sent him! Such knowledge carried him. When attempts on his life materialized, he knew that even if death indeed awaited him in the next city, God had ordained it so. When we walk in the faith and obedience of a true disciple, we cannot be defeated, and we will not quit; even in the face of death. We know physical death is inevitable, and we realize that as we follow Christ closely. Death can only come at its perfectly ordained time and place for the optimum glory of GOD.So, when the psalmist encouraged us to Be Still, let's consider that he was talking about our heart! Always moving, always trusting, always following with a resting heart, always under the Shadow of the Almighty.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 26:3
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1 Corinthians 2:12
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

Surely we all will die one day as planned by God so be still before the Almighty and knowing everything is in the Hands of the Most High! Coram Deo
